The Ava DuVernay- directed A Wrinkle In Time, releasing on March 8, is already revving up to be the next big cultural movement of 2018. Hoping to follow on the successful steps of Black Panther, which has topped over $800 Million Worldwide to-date.
In an effort to bring deserving youth to films, The Team of H.O.P.E. recently announced the "Day At The Movies" initiative. Beginning Friday, March 9th with A Wrinkle In Time, The Team of H.O.P.E. will host Private Screenings at various theaters, allowing children to enjoy this highly-anticipated title regardless of their economic challenges.
Enrique Rodriguez, Executive Director for Team of H.O.P.E. released a statement expressing his excitement and ultimate message of the program.
"We hope that by providing this opportunity we can inspire local youth to dream. We hope we can empower them to become exceptional leaders and embrace their individuality . Its important that we support films like Wrinkle and Black Panther so the budget can be given to make more of these films so that kids, particularly those of color can identify with and be excited for."
Based on the children's book by Madeleine L'Engle, A Wrinkle In Time stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Storm Reid, Zach Galiflankis, Chris Pine, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mindy Kaling. Jennifer Lee, who co-directed Frozen, wrote the screenplay.
