Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of Tuesday’s terrible storms and tornadoes that brought destruction to so many neighborhoods in New Orleans. We are so thankful that despite many injuries, no one was killed in this disaster.
We are immediately supporting in relief efforts by aiding in 300 emergency meals to a partner agency near the epicenter of the biggest tornado that struck New Orleans East. We are also looking into how we can support the City of New Orleans’ official disaster shelter at Joe Brown Park. As in past disasters, we are monitoring the the situation and will continue to provide aid and support to the victims of this day’s storms.

Accepting: Monetary donations. To make a donation to SBP's Louisiana Tornado Recovery Fund, click here. Proceeds will fund SBP's initial damage assessment and begin rebuilding work for those most in need.
*Greater New Orleans Foundation
Accepting: Monetary donations. To make a donation to the GNOF's Helping Our Neighbors: Tornado Relief Fund, click here. Proceeds will support nonprofit organizations in the Greater New Orleans area providing assistance to affected individuals.
*Second Harvest -- Second Harvest Food Bank will deliver emergency meals to HOPE the Food Pantry in New Orleans East, which has ceased daily meal preparation as a result of tornado-caused power outage.
Accepting: Nonperishable food items such as canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned meat, soups, stews, beans, chili, peanut butter, pasta, rice, breakfast cereal and shelf-stable milk. For a full list of suggested donation items, click here.
